Unfolding Fragments: Collage Workshop

Saturday, November 1, 2025, 4pm

Free Registration

This collage workshop, led by artist Charlie Perez-Tlatenchi, reframes the practice of collaging as a way to conceptualize how communities are structured. Taking inspiration from Sunset Park, the neighborhood where the artist grew up, we wonder how the act of collaging can embody the experience of living in an urban environment where many fragmented, yet distinctive perspectives coexist in a close-knit space.

For this collective collaging workshop, participants will make individual “pages” that will be woven together into one book-like form. The form of the book, paired with the practice of collaging, speaks to the exterior and interior experiences of a singular human living within an eclectic community.

Materials and supplies will be provided by Canal Projects, but participants are welcome to bring their own.
